Antoinette Morton
Facing a criminal matter is rarely just a legal challenge... it is a deeply personal one. Antoinette Morton understands that better than most, and it is that understanding that sits at the heart of everything she does.
With a career in criminal law spanning nearly two decades, Antoinette has built a reputation as a lawyer who combines formidable legal skill with a genuinely caring approach. She believes that every client and their family – deserves to be fully informed, clearly supported, and never left wondering what comes next. In what can be an overwhelming and frightening process, that commitment to open, honest communication makes an enormous difference to the people who trust her with their matters.
Antoinette began practising criminal law in 2006, and in 2009 made the move to Mackay, where she founded Morton Lawyers – the only boutique criminal law firm in the region. That decision spoke volumes about who she is: a lawyer willing to go where she was needed most, and to build something from the ground up to serve a community that deserved proper access to exceptional legal representation. When Morton Lawyers merged with Fisher Dore Lawyers in 2017, it marked the next chapter in that same mission… continuing to deliver the highest standard of criminal law services across Queensland’s Central Coast region and beyond.
Today, Antoinette divides her time between Mackay and Brisbane, allowing her to support clients right across Queensland. Her experience spans the full breadth of criminal law, from juvenile matters and domestic and family violence proceedings through to appearances before the Crime and Corruption Commission, the Mental Health Court, and the Mental Health Review Tribunal. Whatever the jurisdiction, whatever the complexity, Antoinette brings the same level of dedication, preparation, and care to every single matter.
Away from the law, Antoinette is deeply invested in the Mackay community she has called home for so many years. She is actively involved with the Mackay Hospital Foundation, YIRS One Stop Youth Shop, and the Mackay School Hockey Association, because for Antoinette, looking after people doesn’t stop at the courtroom door.
She is well-respected across the Mackay legal community and recognised for exactly what she is: a determined, supportive advocate who goes above and beyond for every client, every time.
