Members of the Fisher Dore Lawyers team attended the Annual Bravehearts Ball, an initiative to raise funds for the prevention of child sexual abuse.
The gala was a fantastic event held at Brisbane City Hall on 28 May 2022. It included speeches from Bravehearts CEO Alison Geale, and Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, Governor of Queensland and Patron-in-Chief of Bravehearts; as well as silent auctions and live entertainment.
Importantly, over $100,000 in funding was raised at the event which will enable Bravehearts to continue its mission to provide a coordinated and holistic approach to the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse. It’s estimated that one in five children are victims of childhood sexual abuse, so the importance of Bravehearts’ work in educating the community and empowering and protecting children cannot be overstated.
As solicitors working in the field of historical childhood sexual abuse, Fisher Dore understands the importance of organisations working at the coalface of this issue and supporting victims of abuse.
